Welcome to Third Grade South Carolina Social Studies. This online course is made up of 5 modules will take your through an entire year of Third Grade Social Studies. Students in this course will understand, analyze and develop ideas about historical events and their impact upon our state. Throughout this course you will be learning about South Carolina history and the changes that have occurred from the settlement of South Carolina to present South Carolina. It is imperative for students to use reading comprehension skills such as finding cause and effect relationships, summarizing, identifying main idea, and many others to understand the Social Studies concepts taught in this course.
Work in this course will take place both in and outside of the classroom. Moodle will be used for the submission of assignments, assessments and discussions.

Requirements
This course is broken down by modules. Each module will have specific assignments that will be graded individually. It is important to complete each module because the content provides prior knowledge for the content presented in the following modules. Discussions questions will be posted to engage students in collaborative learning and group participation. All communication will be conducted through Moodle. Please make sure to check the Moodle page frequently for any course announcements.
Students will be expected to work course content 4-6 hours a week.
